I go back to school on Monday.
And here’s the truth: I’m excited.
I love being a teacher. I love my students, the fresh start of a new school year, and the feeling that what I do every day matters.
But I’ve also learned something important:
Loving my job doesn’t mean my paycheck has to be my only plan for my future.
For years, I thought those two things somehow conflicted. If I wanted to create another source of income, maybe that meant I wasn’t grateful for my career.
Not anymore.
I’m building extra income because I want choices.
The choice to keep teaching because I love it—not because I can’t afford to leave.
The choice to retire when I’m ready.
The choice to travel, spend time with family, and worry a little less about what comes next.
So I’ll walk back into my classroom Monday genuinely happy to be there.
And I’ll keep building something for my future, too.
Teacher Truth: You can love the life you have while still creating more choices for the life ahead.
See you next Wednesday for another Teacher Truth. ❤️
