If someone had told me twenty years ago that I would be making money online while still teaching full-time, I probably would have laughed.
The truth is, I’ve been searching for ways to make money online since 2004.
Even back then, I believed there had to be a better way than trading more hours for more money. I dreamed of creating additional income from home—income that could provide more freedom and more choices for my family.
But life has a way of changing our priorities.
I was raising four children, working full-time, managing a household, and simply trying to keep up with everyday life. Like so many parents, I put my dream on the back burner because my family needed me.
Years passed.
Then, as my children grew up and became adults, I finally had something I hadn’t had in a long time…
Time to invest in myself.
Instead of spending those extra hours watching television or scrolling on my phone, I made a decision that changed my life. I committed to learning how people were making money online.
Today, I have built four successful online income streams, all while continuing to teach full-time.
Has it happened overnight? Absolutely not.
It took learning, persistence, and consistency.
But looking back, I’m so thankful I finally gave myself permission to pursue the dream I’d been carrying around for years.
Why Affiliate Marketing Was My Top Choice
One of the first income streams I learned was affiliate marketing, and it opened my eyes to what was possible.
The biggest reason affiliate marketing appealed to me was because I didn’t need to create my own product.
I didn’t need inventory.
I didn’t need to ship boxes.
I didn’t need a business degree.
I simply needed to learn a system.
As a full-time teacher, my time was limited, so I looked for something I could build during evenings, weekends, and school breaks.
Little by little, I learned.
Then I earned my first commission.
It wasn’t life-changing money, but it was life-changing perspective.
For the first time, I realized it was possible to earn income outside of the hours I spent at my teaching job.
That first commission gave me confidence to keep learning, and eventually it led me to build multiple streams of income that continue to grow today.
